FAQs
What is a doula?
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I’m here to support you - not to replace your care team, but to walk alongside you with encouragement, comfort techniques, and a calm, steady presence.
Do you support hospital, birth center, and home births?
Yes! I support all types of birth settings. Whether you are planning a home birth, a hospital delivery, or something in between, I’ll be by your side to help you feel confident and supported.
How do you support husbands and partners?
I believe birth is a team effort, and partners play a powerful role. I support dads by offering reassurance, practical guidance, and helping them feel involved and prepared - so they can support you with confidence.
When should I book your services?
Most families book doula support in the second trimester, but I’m happy to work with you at any point in your pregnancy if I have availability. Early booking ensures I can reserve your due date on my calendar!
What if I need more postpartum support?
While I include one postpartum visit, I offer additional visits for a fee and can also refer you to a trusted postpartum doula or other resources for extra support.
What’s included in your doula services?
2 prenatal visits to plan for your birth, discuss comfort measures, and provide ongoing support, labor and birth support wherever you choose to birth, and one postpartum visit to check in, offer recovery support and answer any questions
Will you be on-call for my birth?
Yes, I will be on call 24/7 from 38 to 42 weeks, and am available by phone or text before and after that for any support or questions you have.
How much do your services cost?
It costs $1,500 for me to be your doula. Once the contract is signed, there is a $750 nonrefundable deposit to reserve your due date. The other half is due by 38 weeks, but feel free to talk to me about a payment plan if needed. Additional postpartum visits are available for $150 upon request.
What tools do you bring to help support me in labor?
I bring a variety of tools to help you feel comfortable and supported, including (but not limited to) a rebozo, peanut ball, birth combs, and a handheld fan. I can also help enhance your birth experience with essential oils and lotions that you provide.
What is your refund policy?
Because I reserve your due date exclusively and remain on call for you, the $750 deposit is non-refundable. If services are canceled before 38 weeks, a portion of your remaining balance may be refunded. After 38 weeks, services are non-refundable.
